	Welcome to A-B Cakes of Southern Illinois.  We are a father-daughter team that bakes cakes for all occasions.  We have made birthday cakes, wedding cakes, cakes for holidays and cakes just because....ummm.... it was a Friday.  We came up with the name of A-B Cakes from our initials (Aspen & Butch), I know....it is original.  We are located in Anna, a small town in Southern Illinois just 17 miles south of Carbondale, home to the SIU Salukis. About a year or so ago, Aspen started watching shows like Cake Boss and Ace of Cakes on TV.  From that moment on, she has been in love with the idea of making a cake look like art.  Aspen may only be 11, but she is very artisitc and has a good eye for how things should look. Aspen and I took three Wilton cake decorating classes from our local Hobby Lobby in Carbondale, Illinois.  Check out the Gallery to see some of our cake designs.  We recently did our first wedding cake design for a client.  The cake design called for several different size cakes covered in teal marshmallow fondant.  The fondant was made from a recipe we found from CakeCentral.  We hope you like our site.  If you have any questions, feel free to email them to info@a-bcakes.com
